http://bible.com/1/mat.4.1-11.kjv Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Grace Gilliam hit me up on Twitter with this song and video. I gotta say, this is a catchy song that needs to be shared worldwide. It’s probably already taking off and it should be.
The song features a club-friendly beat and Grace singing praises while directing the steps to the Jesus Slide. The video features various people dancing along to the song and enjoying themselves with good wholesome fun.
Now the song is not without a few technical flaws, but one overlooks that when you start getting caught up singing along and doing The Jesus Slide!
Check it out and share your thoughts on #JesusSlide.
Adia is an artist singing stories that lead people to Christ with a beat backdrop that Nicki Minaj would love to rock to. I love beats. I love good content and what I’ve heard so far from Adia’s debut album has blown my mind. And she has Gemstones (my new favorite emcee) on a song called Heat!
From her debut album Behind Enemy Lines check out Rags to Riches which features rapper Sean Simmonds. The video features powerful stories of roads that lead to reaching out to God.
This girl might break new boundaries for Gospel music. Watch her.
Bizzle has never been one to shy away from the issues. In the wake of the recent Michael Brown shooting, racial wounds have opened again. Christians never really address this. White Christians and Black Christians tend to quietly disagree or just keep silent about it. Let’s talk about it. I think Bizzle clearly depicts an important point of view that shouldn’t be ignored. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Going to church is a phrase commonly used to describe assembling with those who share the same faith to worship God in various biblically approved ways, study His Word together and engage in healthy fellowship with each other.
We can view examples of this action in the book of Acts as well as in Hebrews where Paul tells them not to forsake the assembly.
But let’s be real. Do we really need to dig that deep for an explanation why one ought to attend worship services? Should it not simply make sense?
Let’s look at it from a secular standpoint. From Mary Kay to Weight Watchers it is found to be beneficial to meet. What do they do when they meet? They cheer each other on. They tell of their success with the program. They learn more valuable information. They motivate each other to work harder. Successful people within these programs know the importance of meeting and absolutely cannot wait til the next one!
If one values meeting for the monetary success or weight loss, then how much more shall we value meeting with the saints for the sake of our spiritual success?? Should be a no-brainer right?
But some say they don’t like organized religion. God, who is not an author of confusion, seems to have a thing for organized religion and structure. He definitely showed that in the old testament as well highlighting the structure within the new testament church with regards to elders and deacons. Furthermore, I’ll bet you’d have a problem if other things in your life were not organized. Your workplace, your favorite sports team — you’d like some level of organization rather than chaos. Would you like to eat at an unorganized restaurant or go to an unorganized concert, or even attend an unorganized college?
In what sense are you okay with chaos?
If chaos does not suit your fancy in these trivial facets of life, how then does it suit you in things that are of spiritual and eternal value?
Let’s truly examine why one would decide to forsake the assembly. Is it not typically for worldly or selfish reasons? I know there are exceptions. And by no means attend just any church gathering for the sake of going.
But desire to worship our Lord and to learn of Him. Desire to join others who share this same wonderful desire.
In the end, it truly is to your benefit to engage in this service to a wonderful God, who really deserves more than a few hours on Sunday.
This phenomenon known as Christian rap is getting bigger everyday y’all! Listen to these emcees go in on this sick grimy down south beat. This song is on Swoope’s latest album Sinema. Share your thoughts! Get churched!
I like Hillary Jane. This girl can sing! She has a bit of a flow too. Her new album Stix and Stones features soulful beats and songs that speak on love. Although it is obviously directed at the Lord in praise, it is written to where it can resonate with anyone.
My personal faves are Shotgun, Celebrity and Stix and Stones.
